東日本大震災直後、支援物資の行き届かない赤ちゃんとママへ必要な支援物資を
手渡すことをきっかけに災害時支援物資配送活動を開始しました。
配送に合わせて１軒１軒のニーズ調査も実施。
活動範囲は宮城県気仙沼市、南三陸町、岩手県陸前高田市を中心に、
約4500世帯のニーズ調査を行い、そのうち約400世帯をサポートしてまいりました。
活動当初は代表佐藤が個人ではじめた活動でしたが、多くの方が活動に協力したいと申し出てくださり、
全国や海外からあたたかい応援メッセージとともに支援物資を受け取らせていただきました。
この活動こそがピースジャムの原点であり、現在も気仙沼スタッフがママのニーズを聞いて、
今必要なことを提供できるように活動にあたっています。
震災から時間が経過し、いのちに関わる支援物資の必要性は薄くなってきましたが
近年、全国各地で地震や台風によって甚大な被害に見舞わられることが増え、
必要に応じ、物資支援を各被災地へお送りしております。
ピースジャムでは「今後、起こりうる災害」への支援も視野に入れています。
震災で経験したことを活かし、迅速に支援をする体制を整えています。

Peace jam is also considering support for "possible future disasters". Utilizing what we experienced during the earthquake disaster, we have set up a system to quickly provide support.
